Slow, graceful upright motion; Joint lubrication; Foward and backward stepping; Calm confidence and breathing. These are some of the reasons you might like to take this course.
Starting Sept 3 and running for 12 weeks we will be learning a new tai chi form. Sung Style tai chi is known for its smooth, flowing movements, gentle postures and high stances.
Many studies have shown Tai Chi as being one of the most effective approaches for preventing falls. It works through improving balance, confidence and muscular strength. Sung Style “Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention” is recognized by the CDC as an effective preventative for Falls.
Class meets Monday and Wednesday at 10am
Free for Renew Activ members. $5/class for all others.
2. Tai Ji –Hybrid class Zoom and in person

Advanced Tai Chi (In person and on Zoom)
Wednesday and Friday 9am-10 am
We have been learning the Combined 42 Form which has elements of Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun styles. In September we are going to start at the beginning and learn each movement little by little.
Tai Chi is a relaxing exercise that has been shown to improve your mobility, balance and immune system. It is recommended by The CDC and health organizations around the world for Parkinson’s, MS, arthritis, and many other auto immune diseases.
The class is $5/session OR if you have ReNew Active (United Health Care) it is covered by your plan.

Where we meet, what to bring, costs
Classes meet at the Senior Center on Jilson Square in Willimantic, CT. Bring water and wear flat flexible shoes or go stocking foot. Class costs $5/session or if United Health Care is your health insurance, their program “ReNew Active” will cover your costs. Participants can pay in advance or as they go along. Check, cash or even Paypal, (contact me for email address). If you have trouble paying, lets talk, we can find a price that works for both of us.
